At last an other scooter rally in the South Island. Wiatangi Weekend, February 4th – 6th. Spring Creek Junction, near Blenheim.

This is the first major rally on South Island since the NZ Classic Scooter at Nelson in 2007.

Spring Creek is just a 15 minute ride south from the Picton Ferry and a 5 minutes ride north of Blenheim. (Don’t forget to fill up in Picton I Blenheim – No Fuel available in Spring Creek over holiday weekend).

Spring Creek is a great venue with numerous accommodation options – 12 unit motel, historic pub with 5 rooms available, campsite with rooms, caravans and tent sites, a 4 Square supermarket and diary. Everything is within walking distance. We have booked the local Rugby clubhouse, large dance floor, on-site managed bar, DVD projector and sound system plus FREE camping at this venue with basic toilet and shower facilities.

National Forum of Motorcycle Groups.

A meeting was held on 2 October 2010 in Petone, near Wellington to consider the concept of a national forum of motorcycling groups.

Ten national level motorcycling groups were represented and after discussion, it was agreed to develop a proposal to establish such a forum.

The proposed purpose of the forum will be to advocate for the interests of on-road motorcyclists, agree on common ground and establish good communication networks.

The proposal will be available to other motorcycling groups who may share the interests and concerns of those attending the meeting.

The groups represented at the meeting were: The Ulysses Club of New Zealand Inc.; Motorcycling New Zealand Inc. (MNZ), Women’s International Motorcycling Association New Zealand Division (WIMA), Motorcycle Action Group of New Zealand Inc. (MAG-NZ), BMW Owners Register Inc. of NZ (BMWOR), Buell Riders New Zealand, Gold Wing Road Riders Assn (GWRRA), New Zealand Gold Wing Riders (Inc.), New Zealand Classic Scooter Club; and Bikers Rights Organisation New Zealand (BRONZ) (Auckland) – all of whom will be consulting their respective memberships on the forum concept.

Interested groups are encouraged to contact the above for further information.

A further meeting will be convened in early 2011 to consider feedback and further action.

NZCSC 2010 Labour Weekend rally Oct 23rd to 25th

All scooters welcome, not just classic.

All accommodation onsite. Dorm style and tenting. VERY limited 4 berth cabins.

From 1pm Saturday 23rd October to Monday 25th October at Vertical Horizon Camp, near Inglewood, Taranaki.

Scoots, games, sealed track pursuits for those keen on a turn of speed, socialising, frothing over scoots, games, scooter related movies, ride out and more.

Friday night accommodation at Pukeora also available.

Free swimming at indoor pool (unheated).

Meals: (other than $12 Sunday morning continental breakfast included in entry fee).

Sunday evening at Pukeora: cooked (generous main, dessert, tea/coffee) $30
Monday morning at Pukeora: cooked $20 or continental $12. (Monday is a public holiday, other meal options could be limited)

Meals need to be booked by one week prior to the rally.

Special dietary needs can be catered for if advised (eg vege, dairy free, gluten free).

New Zealand Classic Scooter Club 2009 Rally

Labour Weekend 2009 (Sat 24th – Mon 26th October) – Pukeora Estate (just south of Waipukurau, Central Hawkes Bay). All accommodation onsite.

From 1pm Saturday 24th October at Pukeora.
Meet and socialise onsite – informal.
Evening meal: your choice of Waipukurau’s dining experience (Subway, pubs, cafe’s, supermarket – New World, Woolworths)

Pukeora Sunday 25th October.
Continental breakfast supplied as part of entry fee.
Ride starting 10 – 10:30am.
Lunch in Waipukurau.
Games at Pukeora carpark Sunday afternoon.
Evening meal and prizegiving: TBA, onsite at Pukeora – booking form out soon.

Monday:
Breakfast: booking form out soon for those who would like breakfast onsite, otherwise a Waipukurau cafe, or make your own.
Farewells and departure.
